How our assemblies are built for the real world

We start with the hose itself. The inner tube is a nitrile based synthetic rubber that resists both mineral oil and water based hydraulic fluids. It is reinforced by multiple layers of high tensile steel wire in either braided or spiral configuration.

The outer cover is a tough chloroprene compound. It’s chosen for its resistance to abrasion, weathering, ozone, and oil splash.

Then comes the part that makes an assembly an assembly: the coupling. We use a controlled crimping process with matched dies for each hose and stem/ferrule combination. This produces a connection that locks the reinforcement without damaging the tube. The result is consistent grip, full pressure retention, and a seal that holds even when the line is bounced around on a drill feed or a crusher hydraulic circuit.

Getting the longest, safest life from your assemblies

Fitting and routing

Use assemblies only with matched couplings. Never force a tight bend below the hose’s specified minimum bend radius. We recommend a minimum three times the hose ID radius. Route assemblies away from hot surfaces, sharp edges, and moving tracks. Support heavy spans with proper clamps.

Pre start checks

Visually inspect assemblies before each shift. Look for cover wear, blistering, kinks, or fitting displacement. Any sign of oil mist around the collar or ferrule is a warning that the crimp may need attention.

Cleaning and storage

Wipe down assemblies periodically with a clean dry cloth. Avoid letting layers of abrasive dust or corrosive mud build up on the cover. Spare assemblies should be stored indoors, cool and dry, with end caps in place and away from electrical equipment and chemical stores.

When to retire an assembly

Replace any assembly that shows cover cuts deep enough to expose reinforcement, permanent kinking, soft spots, or blistering. A weeping fitting should never be tightened and ignored. It’s telling you the seal has been compromised.

Absolutely. Our standard nitrile tube is compatible with mineral oil and water based fluids. We can also supply compounds specifically formulated for phosphate ester fluids. Just tell us your fluid type when ordering and we’ll ensure chemical compatibility.
